Dear World,
I am officially starting my blog.  Here are a few pieces that I have recently finished.

This blog will serve a few different purposes.  It will be a place for people to view art and music that I am working on.  I will also be examining other efficient human beings and seeing what tips they have for hard working Americans like us.  If you feel like you are efficient, or even if you just want to impart some wisdom my way, please leave a post or email me.  I am excited to learn, and I am excited that I am excited.  Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming EP Dear Mr. Ford.  Thanks homies.

Bank of America Sued

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Bank of America is being sued for using bonuses that ‘ “disproportionately disadvantages women and advantages white men as favored employees,” the complaint said. ‘ From Reuters. Cool.

This is a hard thing to stomach however, since these women are earning probably earning enough to support four or five families. But maybe it will trickle down? :/ I guess equality somewhere is saying something. Maybe the woman will do more for others with their new monies.

when you meet your heroes….

Sunday, June 21st, 2009

A friend once told me that a friend once told her that when you meet your heroes, one of two things can happen. You will find out that they are either (one) complete ass-holes, or (two) just like you.

Sometimes you just have to believe in the magic of this world and how the universe orchestrates a symphony of synchronicity into sounds and people. Often times we aspire to create in ways that are beyond our current means, yet we need only to look towards those who are currently exploring their creative limits and pushing beyond them to implant sparks of hope into our future selves while simultaneously being inspiration to go further down.

Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros capture the soul of connecting the sounds we make to the things we feel with the boundaries of words and the limitlessness of instruments dancing with friendship and connected existence.  An inspiration of music borne out of love and humanity and the beauty that is made in connecting the deepest parts of who we are to those that recognize where to find it.

If you vibe, we vibe. And if you dance we dance.  So we went to the show and believed it.  10 songs later, a few more drinks later, and a whole lot of dance moves later, we not only believed, we knew.  This was something special, and it happened here amongst us, and it will happen in many other places that they will choose to do this.  On tour, at venues, in concert, during practice, at a local coffee shop, or a music festival.  But who would have ever thought, that this would happen at our own home.  Synchronicity LA.3526034330_c04ea3d1ca

We were going about our regular monday night, food being prepared by our magician chefs, and food ready to be consumed by our hungry masses.  As food becomes energy for our bodies, we attract energy in our own intentions.  Sometimes all it takes is an e-mail.  Sometimes all it takes is a hungry person to be offered food.

Dinner passes and the unusual amount of masses (up to 26 people at this point) are fed sufficiently.  Then the door opens and more people come strolling in.  Although the night has an usual amount of guests, these were the first of the unexpected variety.  Yet we should have always expected this.  The words and music we believed in and danced to 4 weeks before, has made its way into our house through its lead singer. We introduce ourselves, and they do the same, and we sit back a bit stunned by his unexpected presence.  Yet the night moves forward, and forward.  Until the night climaxes  when we find  ourselves huddled in a circle sharing gifts of creativity and sound.  Each individual offering up their gift to the universe and leaving imprints of moments embedded in the spaces of all that hear, see and experience. It is in that moment that we discover the beauty of what had happened.  We just met a hero, but we didn’t understand what that meant until we realized that not only was he not an asshole, but he was just like us, and he brought along that something special we were so sure he would bring everywhere else he would go.

This is the community (plus Ben and minus Marla) with our dear friend Ignacio, who is lovingly committing his time to share his life wisdom and knowledge of Process Theology with us.  As of lately, we have been discussing the tragedy of war and reading literature materials such as Mark Twain’s, “The War Prayer.”  Please come and join us for these discussions!
